Chapter 7: Rescued a VIP
A hushed murmur spread through the crowd.
“Everyone who came to Caesar Hotel today are well-known figures. I heard they’re all from prestigious medical families.”
“Then, this little child…”
Wynter wasn’t surprised by the whispers. Anthony was dressed meticulously, and even his small wristwatch looked expensive.
As she packed up her medical kit, she advised him, “Remember to bring a bodyguard next time you go out.”
But before she could leave, Anthony suddenly hugged her leg.
Wynter paused, looking down at him. She could no longer ride her public bike with him clinging to her. Anthony didn’t speak but tugged at her clothing, following every step she took. It was clear this wouldn’t stop until he got what he wanted.
She stopped walking and said, “I’ll take you back.”
“Good!” Anthony nodded vigorously, his face lighting up with joy. “I want my family to thank you properly, Miss.”
Wynter rolled up his sleeve and replied, “No need for thanks. I don’t charge consultation fees for children.”
“Then…” Anthony’s round eyes narrowed with thought. “Miss, do you have a boyfriend?”
Wynter straightened, replying dryly, “No.”
“Then, I’ll have my third brother propose to you to repay you, Miss!” Anthony said, giggling as he used his small fingers to count. “Although my third brother doesn’t talk much, he’s handsome and good at making money. You won’t feel embarrassed being seen with him. Many women want to marry him.”
Wynter couldn’t help but chuckle. “I’m not planning on getting married anytime soon.”
“Oh,” Anthony said, deflated. He tugged on his small ears and walked beside her with a slight slump in his step.
When they reached the hotel entrance, Anthony suddenly perked up again. “Miss, how about you meet my third brother first? You can decide after that!”
Wynter raised an eyebrow. “Does your brother know you’re promoting him like this?”
“He’s always sick,” Anthony said seriously. “Our family hopes he can find a wife soon. Miss, with your excellent medical skills and beauty, I’m sure many people would want to be your boyfriend. I just want to help my third brother.”
Wynter’s eyes softened as she noticed his pale lips, worn from illness. She bought him a bottle of mineral water and a pack of biscuits. “Speak less. You haven’t fully recovered.”
Anthony obediently accepted what she gave him, though his small hand weakly lifted to open the water bottle. “Miss, help me.”
Just then, Vincent Jenkins, the assistant sent to pick him up, stepped out of the car. He froze at the sight before quickly hiding his surprise.
Wynter? The young lady kicked out by the Yates family? Why was Anthony with her? And she even helped him open a bottle? Was this some kind of transformation?
But Vincent was quick to mask his emotions. He knew Wynter, but she didn’t know him.
Without revealing his identity, Vincent approached the pair. “Young Master Anthony! I’ve finally found you! I’m so relieved you’re okay.”
Anthony gripped Wynter’s hand firmly, his expression resolute. “It was Miss who saved me.”
Vincent bowed respectfully. “Thank you, Ms. Quinnell.”
Wynter gave him a pointed look. “He already thanked me.”
Vincent wasn’t sure how to respond to her cool demeanor. He turned back to Anthony. “Young Master Anthony, the boss arranged for someone to find you. He’s in the car now and hasn’t taken his medicine for the afternoon.”
Anthony’s eyes widened in surprise. He hadn’t expected his third brother to come out personally.
At that moment, the window of a sleek Maybeck car lowered just slightly, revealing a tall and graceful figure. The man inside discreetly covered his mouth with his fist to stifle a cough, but his presence alone exuded an air of nobility and sophistication—like a young master from an esteemed family.
