“Justin, have you found out what happened?” Gregory asked, his face creased with concern as he comforted his wife.
“I found out.
The person who exposed this news is the newly appointed general manager of KS World Hotel, Bella Thompson.
”
Justin lowered his eyelids, deliberately avoiding the couple’s gaze.
In his memory, Gregory had never shown such tenderness to either his mother or to him.
Perhaps Gregory had already forgotten what Justin’s mother looked like.
“The Thompson family from Hatchbay?!”
Shannon gasped, covering her mouth in disbelief.
“That’s the richest family in Hatchbay! How could my sister’s family have offended them?!”
“We’ve never had any interactions with the Thompson family.
Our forefathers had a deep grudge against them,” Gregory explained, his tone heavy.
“Wyatt Thompson’s great-grandmother swore that no one from the Thompson family could ever marry a Salvador.
Anyone who disobeys would be disowned and would not inherit anything.

Justin didn’t care about this history.
His focus remained on Rosalind, not Bella Thompson.
However, hearing his father’s words sent a cold shiver down his spine.
“OMG! The Thompsons must be targeting Gold Corporation so they can indirectly target us, especially since Rose is about to marry Justin.
They’re so petty!” Shannon clenched her silk handkerchief in frustration.
“Justin, you should see Ms.
Thompson tomorrow and find a way to stop her from going after the Golds.
This isn’t just their problem anymore.
It’ll affect our family’s reputation too!” Gregory’s tone was stern, his gaze fixed on his son.
“Oh, Greg, don’t be so harsh on Justin.
He’s always been an obedient child,” Shannon said sweetly, massaging her husband’s shoulder.
“I’m only saving the Gold family for Rose’s sake.
It has nothing to do with anyone else, Aunt Shannon,” Justin replied, his eyes cold and piercing.
He turned to leave, his words hanging in the air.
Shannon’s face turned pale with anger.
She was the wife of the Salvador Corporation’s chairman, yet Justin still called her “Aunt Shannon.
” It felt like a direct insult.
“Stop! Why are you still calling her Aunt Shannon? Shannon is your wife and your mother! Don’t you know your manners?!” Gregory shouted, standing up in fury.
Justin paused, but didn’t turn around.
“You can have several wives, but I will only have one mother.
So don’t make things difficult for me.

Later that evening, Asher went to Savrow to meet Bella.
Over dinner, they discussed Michael Gordon and the Gold family.
“Dad already knows your strategy, and he didn’t object.
He just said we shouldn’t let them get away with it if the evidence is conclusive,” Asher said, cutting up Bella’s steak for her.
“Wyatt is a scumbag when it comes to women, but he’s competent in other areas,” Bella said, taking a bite of her medium-rare steak, her eyes narrowing slightly.
“That’s why our three stepmothers are so devoted to him.
Despite being a playboy, Dad is a good person.
He hasn’t mistreated any of his wives.

“Right.
No one will ever know the troubles of the dead, after all, because only the living tell the stories.
” Bella lowered her lashes and speared another piece of steak.
Asher noticed the sadness creeping into his sister’s eyes and gently stroked the top of her head.
“I know you no longer hate our stepmothers.
It’s just that you can’t let go of the past.
You still feel it’s unfair for our mother.
But Bella, have you ever thought that maybe Mom stopped blaming Dad a long time ago?”
“How can I not resent him?” Bella’s voice wavered.
“I’m sure his wives are just putting up with him.
No woman can share her husband with other women…”
Her breath caught as the memories flooded back.
