makes me feel like I’m the one who’s supposed to be working, not you.
” Bella laughed softly, a hint of mischief in her voice as she gestured for Steven to relax.
Steven gave her a sheepish smile, nodding.
“I guess I’ve been too used to it.
I’ll change into something more comfortable next time.
”
Bella gave a small wave of her hand as she walked towards the wine cellar.
“Take it easy.
Just relax.
We’re not in a rush for anything tonight.
You’ve been working hard, and you deserve a break too.
”
Steven nodded, still concerned about her injury, but he let her go.
He was about to turn around when Bella, still holding the door open, called out to him.
“Steven, make sure you’re not just standing around.
Do something that makes you feel like you’re at home too.
We’re family here.
”
Steven’s face softened at her words.
It was rare to hear her speak like this—so caring, so unguarded.
He smiled, a little surprised by her gentle tone, and replied, “Alright, I’ll do that.
I’ll take a seat and relax, just like you said.
”
As Bella stepped into the wine cellar, her thoughts began to wander.
She remembered the call from Justin earlier.
Her mind swirled with confusion and unease.
Justin’s words still echoed in her ears, and she couldn’t help but wonder what kind of mess she was walking into by standing up to the Gold Corporation.
But as much as she wanted to push those thoughts away, she knew the storm was only just beginning.
The truth about her past with Asher, her ties to the Salvador family, and Justin’s sudden appearance—all of it was closing in on her.
Would she be able to keep her secrets safe, or would they unravel everything she had worked so hard to protect?
She sighed as she pulled a bottle of red wine from the shelf, but even the familiar action of uncorking the bottle couldn’t shake the feeling of impending chaos that loomed over her.
“Ms.
Bella, are you okay?” Steven asked from the doorway, his voice laced with concern.
Bella snapped back to reality and smiled softly.
“Yeah, I’m fine.
Just thinking.
”
Steven didn’t push her, knowing that she wasn’t someone who easily shared her worries.
Instead, he just nodded and took a seat on the nearby couch, his eyes never straying far from her.
As she poured herself a glass of wine, Bella thought, I can’t let Justin, the Gold Corporation, or anyone else destroy what I’ve built.
I’ve already made it this far, and I won’t back down now.
