In the ward, the sickly Nigel instantly seemed more energetic when he saw Bella.
His eyes brightened.
“Anna! Come to Grandpa!”
Bella switched personas in an instant, sitting obediently by Nigel’s side.
“Grandpa, how are you feeling? Do you have any discomfort?”
“I feel much better now that I can see you!”
Nigel held her hand and anxiously asked, “Anna, this punk told me that you two are divorced.

“Yes, Grandpa.
We are divorced.

“Justin, you imbecile! Why would you divorce such a good wife?! Anna is the best there is!” Nigel struggled to sit up, glaring at Justin.
Justin, worried about his grandfather’s health, dared not retort.
“Grandpa, please don’t get mad.
I didn’t want to continue this marriage, and Justin went along with it.
” Bella spoke in a soft voice, gently patting the old man’s back to calm him.
Justin was taken aback by Bella’s calmness.
She didn’t use his grandfather to get back at him or complain about him to the old man.
He thought to himself, Was she trying to win me back using an unconventional method? Did she think I’d be attracted to her again?
“Anna, did they bully you at home? Did Shannon treat you badly?” Nigel asked with concern.
“No, Grandpa.
Justin and I just have different views.
We don’t love each other, so it’s in both our interests to go our separate ways.
”
Bella’s bright eyes held a hint of sadness.
“Don’t blame Justin.
We’ve had some wonderful memories over the past three years, and that’s enough.
I don’t have any regrets.
”
Justin frowned, a swirl of emotions overtaking him.
He couldn’t recall having any good memories with Anna.
They hadn’t even had a proper wedding.
They got their marriage license hastily at Nigel’s insistence.
Then she moved into Tideview Manor with just a small suitcase.
She had become his wife for three years in such a rushed manner.
Had she really had wonderful memories with him? Maybe she was just being polite.

Nigel’s eyes were misty with regret.

Bella had let go of 13 years of infatuation, though only God knew how much it hurt her.
Justin was determined to get a divorce.
If she kept pursuing him, she would only lose her dignity.
Bella didn’t want to become a resentful woman just to win back a man’s heart.
“Matt, bring me the birthday gift I prepared for my granddaughter-in-law!”
Matt quickly donned white gloves and retrieved a red velvet jewelry box.
He opened the box to reveal an exquisite emerald-green jade bracelet.
Bella, who knew how to appraise treasures, immediately recognized that this jade was an antique, at least a hundred years old.
“Grandpa, isn’t this Grandma’s…?” Justin exclaimed in surprise.
“Yes, this is the bracelet I gave your grandmother when we first started dating.
It’s a family heirloom passed down from your great-grandfather.
”
As Nigel held the bracelet and examined it under the light, his gaze softened.
“Your grandmother told me this was her favorite jade bracelet among all her jewelry.
She hoped that I could give it to my favorite granddaughter-in-law.
Now that your grandmother is gone, I want to give this to my favorite girl, Anna.
Only she deserves this treasure.
”
“No, Grandpa! This is too expensive.
Not to mention, I’m no longer Justin’s wife.
” Bella quickly refused, panic in her voice.
“Even if you and Justin are no longer together, you are still the only granddaughter-in-law I’ll ever acknowledge!” Nigel insisted, his voice firm.
