Bella lifted her eyelids slowly, her almond-shaped eyes glistening with tears as she gazed at the handsome man standing before her.
The man strode forward with confidence and, without hesitation, kneeled in front of her.
He lifted his chiseled face, his eyes full of affection and mischief as he gazed at her.
“I heard that you want to disown me,” he said with a devilish smile, his voice teasing yet filled with fondness.
“Drew…” Bella murmured softly, her voice barely a whisper.
“Phew! At least you’re still willing to call my name.
I’m relieved,” Drew said, a playful grin spreading across his face.
Drew Brown was Wyatt Thompson’s fourth son, a man who usually exuded an air of cold aloofness, but whenever he was around Bella, his eyes lit up with joy, an expression of warmth and tenderness only she could draw out of him.
He wrapped his strong arm around her slim waist and reached into the pocket of his windbreaker.
Pulling out a piece of chocolate, he ripped the wrapping open with his teeth and held it out to her.
“It’s a specialty from Ankora, your favorite.
Try it,” he urged, a teasing glint in his eyes.
“Drew!” Bella exclaimed, feeling the weight of emotions rise within her as she leaned against his broad chest.
Her tears began to fall, soaking through his black shirt.
The reasons for her tears were complex: the joy of finally reuniting with her fourth brother after so long, the guilt of breaking the bracelet Nigel had given her, the hatred she felt toward Rosalind, and the sadness of not being able to recreate the jade bracelet.
But also, a part of her sorrow stemmed from the deep disappointment and heartbreak she felt toward Justin.
“Bella? Are you crying?” Drew’s voice softened in concern as he noticed her tears.
He gently stroked the back of her neck, his touch tender.
“No…” Bella muttered, her voice thick with emotion.
“My shirt is soaked with your tears, and you’re still denying it?” Drew chuckled lightly, though there was a hint of worry in his voice.
“I said no!” Bella snapped, though her voice cracked, betraying her.
Drew knew Bella well.
Her pride was immense, and she had rarely cried even as a child.
He didn’t press her further, understanding her need to keep her emotions in check.
Instead, he simply held her, offering silent comfort while his heart ached for her.
He thought to himself with determination, Bella, I’m back.
And I’ll make sure that bastard Justin Salvador pays for what he’s done.
Meanwhile, outside the door, Asher and Axel stood side by side, watching the brother and sister share this intimate moment.
Axel clenched his fists in frustration, his voice laced with jealousy.
“Damn it! This punk slithers back in and just steals her away from us! Why doesn’t she ever cry like this with me? What right does he have to come back after disappearing for so long?!”
Asher, his expression calm, lowered his gaze slightly, a hint of amusement in his eyes.
“The helicopter caused quite a bit of damage to the floor tiles and trees in Meteor Garden,” he noted.
Axel raised an eyebrow, looking at Asher curiously.
“What’s your point?”
Asher sighed and shook his head.
“I’ll tell Drew later that the costs of landscaping and renovations will be charged to his account.
”
Bella had struggled for hours, determined to recreate the bracelet to her satisfaction.
Exhausted, she finally managed to craft a piece she felt proud of, only to fall asleep on the pile of stones, utterly unaware.
Tony, who had been watching over her, carefully chose a room for Bella to rest in.
Drew gently lifted her light form and, under Axel’s watchful gaze, carried her to the bed.
After covering her with a quilt and planting a soft kiss on her cheek, Drew quietly exited the room, closing the door behind him.
Axel, leaning against the wall, couldn’t help but mock Drew.
“You’re such a miser.
You travel all over the world, and all you bring our baby sister is a piece of chocolate? How cheap!”
Drew shot him a look, his eyes narrowing slightly.
“Ax, will you stop assuming things?”
Axel, never one to let a jab slide, glared at Drew.
“You’d better show me some respect.
”
“No way in hell,” Drew retorted with a smirk.
“Fuck you!” Axel snapped, his temper flaring as he raised a leg to kick Drew.
But Drew, with the quick reflexes of a top-secret agent, simply shifted his weight to dodge the kick effortlessly.
Axel, unable to regain his balance in time, stumbled forward, nearly ripping his pants in the process.
He looked ridiculous, his face turning red with embarrassment.
“Nice try, Axel,” Drew smirked, watching the scene unfold with amusement.
