Ryan clicked his tongue, clearly irritated, and hurried to catch up with Bella.
“Ms.
Brown is right! It’s inappropriate for you to touch her since you’re divorced! Ms.
Brown, let me carry you!”
“Get lost!”
Bella’s voice was cold and firm.
Justin’s eyes were bloodshot with fury, while Bella’s face flushed with embarrassment.
Ryan thought to himself, Oh? Now they really do look like a couple.
At the hospital, Bella was quickly whisked away to the emergency room.
Justin and Ryan were left standing in the sterile corridor, the tension between them palpable.
“Justin, you’re so cruel.
How could you pull her arm like that? You actually wanted to dislocate it?” Ryan sighed and shook his head, his tone filled with disapproval.
“How do you know she works there?” Justin’s voice was cold, and his eyes flashed with an edge of anger.
“I went there for lunch and bumped into her doing menial work at the back door.
She was working so hard that it’s hard to imagine she used to be your wife,” Ryan explained, a subtle hint of admiration in his voice.
“She’s not arrogant or impetuous.
She knows which battles to fight.
She’s truly the most special woman I’ve ever met.
”
Justin clenched his fists, feeling a surge of emotion as his voice dropped to a hoarse whisper.
“Then you haven’t met a lot of women.
”
“Well, at least I’m not like someone who can’t tell treasure from trash,” Ryan quipped, throwing a jab at Justin.
Justin’s chest tightened, and his heart clenched as he felt the weight of Ryan’s words.
“To be honest, I have a feeling you’ll get back together with her,” Ryan said casually, but his words hit Justin like a punch to the gut.
“Impossible,” Justin responded quickly, his voice rough.
“It’s obvious you still care about her,” Ryan pressed.
“Look at you, rushing over here, staring at her like she’s your whole world.
How can you still say you don’t care?”
Ryan leaned against the wall, his arms crossed, shaking his head.
“Bro, you’re a real jerk.
You abandoned your wife for your sweetheart, and now you’re mad that she’s with someone else? What, are you trying to pull a Wyatt Thompson and have multiple wives?”
“She promised Grandpa that we wouldn’t finalize our divorce until after his 80th birthday.
She should keep her promise,” Justin muttered, his voice heavy with frustration.
“She only agreed to delay it for Grandpa’s sake, but you’re hanging onto her like she’s your lifeline.
You’re shameless.
” Ryan raised his eyebrows, clearly unimpressed.
“That’s none of your business.
” Justin’s jaw tightened, his chest feeling suffocated by the weight of the conversation.
“I know, but I like Ms.
Brown, and I want to pursue her.
That’s why I’m discussing this with you.
Are you going to stop pestering her?” Ryan’s tone was serious now, his expression matching his words.
“Just give up.
You’re not her type,” Justin retorted, his face darkening with the intensity of his feelings.
“Well, she won’t know until she tries,” Ryan shot back, a smug smile on his face.
“Ryan Hoffman!” Justin’s voice grew more intense.
Ryan ignored the warning in Justin’s tone, leaning in with a playful glint in his eyes.
“But if you regret your divorce and want to get back together with her before marrying Rosalind, I’ll back off.
I’ll promise not to bother her again.
After all, you’re the only true friend I have.
But if you go through with marrying Rosalind and keep pestering Ms.
Brown, then I won’t be on your side.
I’ll even help her go against you.
”
Justin’s expression hardened, his lips pressed into a thin line.
His handsome face had become an impenetrable mask.
“Justin Salvador!”
The sharp, angry voice echoed through the corridor.
