Bella was stunned when she saw Justin’s name on Asher’s caller ID.
“Should I answer?” Asher asked.
“Yup!” Bella replied without hesitation.
Asher put the call on speaker.
“Mr.
Thompson, is my wife with you?” Justin asked in a hoarse voice.
Bella’s irritation flared up instantly.
She snapped, “Mr.
Salvador, please watch your words.
I am your EX-wife now.
“Anna Brown! So you really are with him!” Justin’s voice grew deeper, filled with frustration.
“Where else could I be? Should I wait for you to kick me out of your house?” Bella shot back bitterly.
Justin’s face darkened.
“Stop being so impatient.
We haven’t finalized the divorce yet, so you are still my wife in name.
You should at least care about Salvador Corporation’s image and your own reputation!”
Bella’s anger boiled over.
“You carried Rosalind into Tideview Manor while we were still married and forced me to sign the divorce papers.
Did you care about my feelings at all, Justin?”
She sneered, “I treat people the way they treat me.
Why should I care about your company’s image now? I’ve already given up my title as CEO’s wife to your beloved Rosalind.
Go to her if you’re so worried about the company’s reputation!”
Asher raised an eyebrow, taking a sip of tea.
He was impressed.
This was the real Bella Thompson—the woman who had always been well-behaved and docile during her three years of marriage to Justin, just a persona she had created for him.
Though Asher loved his sister no matter what, he preferred her when she was a force to be reckoned with.
Thankfully, that bold and fearless Bella was back.
“I don’t have time to argue with you now,” Justin replied, his voice sounding tired.
“Grandpa’s hospitalized, and he’s been asking to see you.
He refuses to take his medicine until he sees you.
Bella’s heart skipped a beat.
Even though she and Justin had parted ways, Nigel had always treated her kindly during the three years she had been with the Salvadors.
When Bella left, she gave up everything, but Nigel was the one person she missed.
“He’s in KS Hospital, right? I’ll go see Grandpa later,” she said softly.
After hanging up, Bella sighed deeply, feeling heavy-hearted.
“Bella, I’ll take you there,” Asher offered.
“It’s fine,” she said quickly.
“I’m going to see Grandpa, not to provoke Justin.
If you send me there, the conflict will only get worse.
Bella waved her hand in frustration.
“I’ll drive myself.
At the hospital, Justin and Ian were waiting outside Nigel’s ward.
Bella rushed over.
She hadn’t seen Justin for a few days, but she could tell at a glance that he had lost weight.
She thought to herself, ‘Damn it! Why should I care? It has nothing to do with me if he lost or gained weight! I don’t care if he dies!’
The two men looked up when they heard the click of her high heels on the floor.
They were startled, especially Justin.
He almost didn’t recognize the woman in front of him—the woman who had been his wife for three years.
“Mr.
Harris, how is Grandpa doing?” Bella didn’t even glance at Justin, focusing only on Ian.
“Young Madam, is that you?” Ian stuttered, his shock evident.
The woman in front of him looked stunning—exquisite makeup, red lips that were incredibly sexy, and a slim black suit that made her legs look impossibly long.
She looked like a powerful lady boss, with a butterfly ruby brooch on her chest that dazzled, but it didn’t overshadow her bright, confident eyes.
Bella paused, realizing that she had forgotten to change into the white dress and sneakers she usually wore—her old, demure Anna Brown attire—because she had been in such a hurry.
“Yes, in the flesh.
Why are you so shocked? Do you not like my new look?”
“No, no… You look much prettier than before! You also look more confident and energetic dressed like this,” Ian replied, genuinely impressed.
“Really? Maybe it’s because I just got divorced.
Bella smirked and added, “I climbed out of a hellhole and saw the light of day again, so of course I’m doing better.
