“Mr.
Salvador… It’s all my fault! I’m not a good mother!” Jean’s voice trembled as she rushed to take the blame.
She knelt before Justin, desperate to prevent the situation from affecting her daughter’s future marriage.
“Our family is struggling.
The factories are closing down, and we don’t have the resources to get by.
When the Thompsons pushed us, we had no choice.
My husband and I sold some things to cover the gap.
I took Rose’s necklace and sold it.
Rose didn’t know, I swear! If I had known it was a token of your love for her, I never would have sold it, even if it meant starving!”
Rosalind sighed with relief, pretending to be innocent, tears welling up in her eyes.
“Mom… You went too far.
That necklace was my favorite.
.
.
How could you…”
But Justin remained unmoved.
His eyes were cold as he spoke, “That’s not what I want to know.
” His gaze hardened as he turned his attention to the more pressing issue—Rosalind’s false accusation against Anna.
“Did you cut your own wrist, or did Anna do it? Did you break Anna’s bracelet on purpose, or was it an accident?” His voice was deep, his expression blank but filled with tension.
Rosalind gasped, her voice shaking with feigned shock.
“Justin… Are you saying I’m a wicked woman who framed Anna? I’ve been by your side for so long.
.
.
Am I not as good as your ex-wife, who lied to you?”
Justin’s eyebrows furrowed in frustration.
“Carrie never lies.
She didn’t see Anna touching you,” he replied bluntly.
Shannon quickly interjected, “Carrie isn’t of sound mind.
You know she’s always hiding away.
We can’t assume she saw everything clearly.
”
Justin sneered, his voice biting.
“Would a mother hurt her own daughter in front of others? I don’t have a mother, so I don’t know how it usually works.
”
Shannon’s face drained of color, and she fell silent, her anger rising at the sting of his words.
Justin turned his attention back to Rosalind.
“So, Rose, why did you do this? I’ve chosen you.
I won’t go back to Anna.
Why are you still causing trouble for her?”
His voice was tight with restrained anger.
The disappointment in his chest weighed heavily, suffocating him.
He had chosen Rosalind once, but now he was beginning to doubt everything he thought he knew.
“I didn’t do it! It wasn’t me!” Rosalind screamed, slamming her hands against the mattress.
Her usually gentle eyes were now bloodshot, her face twisted with fury.
“She stole my man! Now she’s framing me! Bethany said that Anna and Carrie have been friends since Anna stayed at Tideview Manor… They must have teamed up against me! Justin, would you rather believe them than me? Have you fallen in love with Anna? Do you not want me anymore?”
Justin’s grip tightened, his fists clenched in frustration.
“I have always been yours.
Even during the three years I was married to Anna, my feelings for you never changed, and I never touched her.
” His voice grew quieter, but his eyes darkened, reflecting the weight of his emotions.
He thought about Anna’s unwavering loyalty, her willingness to take the blame even when it wasn’t her fault, and the red marks on her wrist.
He remembered how she had looked at him with tears, her eyes filled with disappointment and hatred.
Taking a deep breath, Justin rubbed his temples, feeling a headache creeping in.
His vision blurred as he tried to process everything.
“But Rose… I don’t understand what you’ve been doing lately…”
