“Oh, no! Are you alright, Rose?” Shannon gasped, but her voice was tinged with a hint of amusement.
Seeing this, Justin hurriedly moved forward to pull Rosalind up, but she refused to budge.
“Justin, it hurts… Will you carry me?” Rosalind cried out, her knees still numb from the fall.
Bella, arms crossed, stared down at the woman on the floor, disgusted.
Rosalind was playing her usual game, trying to manipulate Justin with her tears.
“Justin, Ms.
Brown pushed me!” Rosalind whimpered, hiding behind Justin and casting Bella a malicious glance.
“Rose, what did you say?” Justin was taken aback by the accusation.
Bella smiled, her voice calm yet biting.
“Are you sure I pushed you? It seems to me like you’re just playing your usual role.
” She wasn’t angry—she was savoring Rosalind’s dramatic performance.
“Why would I fall all of a sudden?” Rosalind’s voice rose in frustration.
“You pushed me from behind!”
“That’s not entirely impossible,” Bella responded coolly.
“You do seem so frail, a gust of wind could knock you over.
Rosalind’s face flushed with anger.
“How dare you insult me?! I clearly felt your hand push me.
Why aren’t you admitting it?”
“Ms.
Gold, there are surveillance cameras everywhere.
You might want to rethink making such accusations.
” Bella’s eyes darkened, her voice turning sharp.
“If you keep this up, I’ll have no choice but to sue you for defamation once I gather the evidence.
Justin blinked in shock, taken aback by Anna’s confidence and demeanor.
She was no longer the meek, submissive wife who had quietly endured everything.
Rosalind, clearly intimidated, looked at Shannon for help.
“Oh, it’s all a misunderstanding!” Shannon quickly intervened, glancing up at the surveillance cameras above them.
“Rose must have slipped by accident.
She probably bumped into Anna and thought she was pushed.
It’s just a misunderstanding!”
“Did you slip, Rose?” Justin’s tone was cold as he stared down at the woman in his arms.
“I thought she pushed me…” Rosalind muttered, but her voice faltered.
Justin’s eyes narrowed, clearly not believing her.
Flustered, Rosalind shifted the blame onto Bella.
“If she hadn’t moved out of the way, I wouldn’t have fallen! It’s all her fault.
My grandmother’s bracelet is broken now! It’s a Gold family heirloom.
It wouldn’t have broken if it weren’t for her! Ms.
Brown, I know you’re upset about the divorce, but don’t take it out on me.
Is it my fault you got divorced?”
She burst into tears again, the ever-present flow of crocodile tears.
Bella stood tall, her expression unreadable.
“First of all, I’m not upset about the divorce.
In fact, I should thank you.
You helped me escape that hellhole.
Now, I don’t have to wait around like an abandoned wife, watching the hours pass in silence.
‘Wait from dusk until dawn?’ Justin was confused.
“Secondly, if this bracelet is truly an heirloom, you should be thanking me for pointing out the truth.
” Bella walked over, picking up the half-broken bracelet and holding it up to the light.
“It’s fake.
“What?!” Rosalind and Shannon gasped.
“This bracelet is filled with toxic glue.
Prolonged exposure is bad for your health,” Bella stated nonchalantly, before tossing the bracelet into the trash can.
The emerald-green jade bracelet on her wrist was a glaring contrast, a silent mockery of Rosalind’s false claims.
“Mr.
Salvador, if you intend to marry Ms.
Gold, perhaps you could buy her something more genuine?” Bella’s tone dripped with sarcasm.
“Anna!” Justin’s expression darkened in frustration.
“Oh, I’ve got a jade toad on my dressing table at Tideview Manor.
I think it would suit you, Rosalind.
You could make it into a bracelet if you like,” Bella added, as if brushing the dust off her hands after handling something unsavory.
Rosalind’s face reddened with fury.
A toad?! She thought, seething.
This bitch is trying to insult me in a roundabout way!
But before Rosalind could retaliate, Bella had already walked away.
Outside the hospital, Bella couldn’t help but laugh when she thought about Rosalind’s flustered expression.
“Anna!”
At the sound of her name, Bella looked back indifferently, already prepared for whatever came next.
