Nicole barely paid any attention to the commotion in the classroom as she answered the call.
The voicemail surprised her with its swift response.

Max nodded, a touch of confusion in his voice.

Her signal was traced back to the school.
It’s strange, but it’s definitely coming from there.”
Jared’s lips curled into a sneer, a glint of realization in his eyes.
“Ellison must have her.
And if that’s true, then we have a serious problem.
He’s not someone we can just approach without cause.”
Max nodded again, acknowledging the difficulty of the situation.
“Getting in won’t be easy.
Ellison’s influence runs deep there.
We can’t afford to make a move unless we’re certain.”
Jared’s gaze darkened further as he leaned back in his chair, contemplating.
“We can’t go in without making it look like a move against him.
We’ll have to be careful.
But we need Lucifer, and if she’s in that school, we’ll find a way.”
