Chapter 18
The scene in the cafeteria grew tense as Austin’s companions tried to help him up, but Nicole remained unbothered, her eyes sharp and unwavering.
She had no patience for bullies, and Austin was no exception.
Her calm demeanor contrasted sharply with the chaos unfolding around her.
As Austin staggered back to his feet, his face twisted in anger and embarrassment, he shot a furious glare at Nicole.
“You brat!” one of his friends shouted, still furious from the humiliation.
“You’re gonna pay for that!”
Nicole, unfazed, took a slow step back, her eyes never leaving Austin.
“If you don’t want to be hurt, then next time, don’t bother me,” she replied coldly.
The entire cafeteria had gone silent, all eyes fixed on the confrontation.
It wasn’t every day someone dared to stand up to Austin Woods, especially not so easily.
Bradley, who had been watching the scene unfold with wide eyes, finally spoke up, a smirk on his face.
“Guess not everyone is scared of the famous Austin Woods, huh?” he said, his voice full of amusement.
Lulu, who had been quiet up until now, looked at Nicole with admiration.
“You’re awesome,” she said, her voice full of awe.
Austin clenched his fists in frustration, but his friends quickly intervened, pulling him away before he could escalate the situation further.
“This isn’t over,” one of them muttered under his breath as they retreated.
Nicole glanced at the retreating group with a smirk.
“We’ll see about that,” she muttered, then turned back to Bradley and Lulu, who were still recovering from the intensity of the moment.
“Are you okay?” Bradley asked, his expression softening.
Nicole nodded, her expression indifferent.
“I’m fine.
Just don’t let these kinds of people ruin your day.”
As the tension in the cafeteria slowly ebbed away, the students returned to their meals, whispering amongst themselves about the spectacle they had just witnessed.
Nicole had made her mark, and it was clear that she was not someone to be trifled with.
But as the moment passed, she felt a sense of satisfaction.
She had stood up for herself, and it felt good.
