Chapter 95
Nicole looked at Austin’s paper, which was mostly empty except for one multiple-choice question he had answered wrong.
She couldn’t help but frown.
Austin saw her looking at it and hurriedly covered the paper, his face turning bright red.
“Boss, don’t look at it.
I started from scratch and didn’t know anything before this.”
Nicole didn’t say anything but suggested, “Come to the café after school and ask me anything you don’t understand.
Studying in class draws too much attention.
It’s much more convenient to study outside.”
She didn’t linger on Austin’s expression and left with Lulu.
His underlings, seeing what had just happened, exchanged looks for a moment before one of them boldly poked Austin and asked, “Austin, what is our boss doing here? What did she say to you that makes you look so dumb?”
Austin immediately raised his fist at the boy, wanting to beat him up.
The boy quickly raised his hands in surrender and asked, “Austin, please tell us what she said.
After all, we’re here reading these stupid books for your sake.”
The others behind them also started looking at Austin, nodding in agreement.
“Exactly, Austin.
We’re all working hard for the boss.
You can’t be selfish.
Tell us what she said.”
Austin gave them a look, then, in a serious tone, said, “Don’t be scared when I tell you.” They all assured him they wouldn’t be frightened.
With a deep breath, Austin finally said, “The boss said she’d help us with tuition.”
The group fell silent for a moment, then someone muttered under their breath, “What? Nicole, the one who scored a zero on the Math Olympiad test and is known for her bad grades, is going to tutor us? Is she serious?”
Austin looked at their shocked faces and realized just how silly his words sounded.
One of the boys whispered, “If we let Nicole tutor us, we might as well ask Raine for help.
She’s the top student in our grade.”
The group quickly fell silent when they saw Austin’s glaring expression.
Austin waved his hand authoritatively.
“Follow me to the café after school.
Let the boss give us tuition.”
He knew Nicole’s academic level, and it was clear she wouldn’t be able to do much for them.
At best, she might help them reach the bottom twenty of the class.
But, she was his boss, and Austin trusted her unconditionally.
Though his underlings were murmuring among themselves, Austin glared at them.
“Step forward if any of you are unhappy with this!” he commanded.
No one dared to challenge him or say anything further, even though they were all reluctantly following him.
Austin smiled with satisfaction.
“Let’s go.
It’s almost class time.
We need to head back to the classroom.”
The group walked away with their heads down, feeling like they were marching to their doom.
Other students in the cafeteria stared at them in shock.
“Did we hear that right? Nicole is going to tutor Austin? The one who scored zero is going to teach those at the bottom of the class? It’s like the blind leading the blind,” they whispered to each other.
Gary was sitting nearby and watched as Nicole walked past him, ignoring him completely as she headed straight toward Austin.
To make matters worse, she mentioned giving Austin tuition.
Gary’s expression turned stormy at the thought.
Nicole’s habit of talking big had not changed a bit.
Sitting across from him, Raine and Norah were both equally shocked by Nicole’s bold decision to offer tuition, given her own poor academic record.
Neither could believe that Nicole had the audacity to tutor others with her grades.
