Chapter 5
After all, the quality of education in small towns was vastly different from San Joto.
Mr.
Riddle Sr.
frowned upon hearing that.
Gloria was right; what good teachers could a school in a small town have? He took a deep breath, put down his teacup, and turned to Daniel with a serious expression.
“Arrange a school for Nicole as soon as possible.
The children of the Riddle family should not fall behind.” Nicole raised an eyebrow slightly, noting that Mr.
Riddle Sr.
was decisive and quick in his actions, which she admired.
As for grades, well, she didn’t have much to say about that… Just then, Daniel had already made a promise.
“I understand, Dad.
I will arrange it.” Mr.
Riddle Sr.
nodded and looked at Nicole again.
“I know that education in small towns is lacking, but all my grandchildren are top five in their grades.
You can’t let me down.” Seeing how much Mr.
Riddle Sr.
valued results, Nicole had no choice but to agree.
“Don’t worry, Grandpa.” She wouldn’t want to lose face, even if it wasn’t just for him.
“Good girl,” Mr.
Riddle Sr.
said with satisfaction, clearly pleased by Nicole’s confidence.
He then ordered the family butler, “I will go back today.
In a few days, take Nicole to my house for a family dinner.” Daniel and Gloria’s expressions shifted.
“Dad… Is that really necessary?” Mr.
Riddle Sr.
had four sons.
The eldest was a business wizard, the second a business magnate, and the third a banking giant.
Only Daniel, due to poor health, had not been involved in the Riddle Corporation business, leading him to live separately.
His relationship with his brothers was distant, and they rarely interacted.
Family gatherings usually only happened during Mr.
Riddle Sr.’s birthday or festive occasions, and even then, Gloria and Daniel often faced taunts from the other three couples.
Gloria had had enough.
Though Nicole’s return was a positive thing, the thought of her daughter having to face these people made her uneasy.
“Dad is right.
Nicole has just returned, and it’s important for the family to get to know each other,” Daniel said indifferently.
“Besides, I plan to send Nicole to Royal Creek Institute, and I’ll need eldest brother’s help.” Royal Creek Institute, split into a university and high school, was the most prestigious educational institution in San Joto.
Its educational standards were top-notch, but the entry criteria were high.
Daniel was determined to secure a place for Nicole there.
“Is Royal Creek Institute really that good?” Nicole squinted slightly, not knowing much about the school.
However, she at least knew someone who went there.
“Of course.
It’s the best school in San Joto.
Your brothers all attend.
If you go there, they can take care of you,” Daniel said warmly.
“It’s a great school, indeed.
But…” Gloria added with concern, “When Dad asked Damien to help Samuel get into the school last time, his wife wasn’t very happy about it.
This time, I imagine she’ll be even more reluctant.” “We’ll just have to find another way,” she said, determined to do whatever it took for her daughter’s sake.
Daniel reassured her, “It’s fine.
Damien and his wife may complain, but they’re not bad people.
I just need Nicole to get a spot in Royal Creek Institute.” His voice lowered, “I’ll do whatever it takes.” “Daniel…” Gloria’s heart ached with gratitude, but also with the pain of seeing him go to such lengths.
Seeing how much her parents were willing to sacrifice for her, Nicole blinked, unsure if she should mention that she knew someone at Royal Creek Institute.
Just then, Mr.
Riddle Sr.
spoke up.
“Daniel is right.
Damien will help…”
